Different types of carpets were made here, including pile and flat-weave, with simple and complex composition. The carpet making art was passed on from generation to generation and was considered the most valued heirloom. The traditional topics for the Tebriiz carpets are the ornamental patterns, with the following dominant background colors: cream, red or navy blue. The most typical for this school are rugs and carpets grouped under the common name “Lachakk turanjj”. In the middle of the center field and in the corners of the carpet (“lachak”-triangle) there are “turanj”-Citron). The turanj in the center of the carpet is a symbol of the Moon, and the pattern formed by lozenges with the toothed leaves on the edges symbolizes the scales of the fish, which rise to the surface of the water at midnight to admire the Moon reflection. The origin of this composition dates back to the 9th-10th centuries. Often the topics for the Tebriiz carpets are drawn from the works of the great Oriental poets. The carpets often depict the scenes of falconry or images of a ferocious lion. Well known are also Tebriiz carpet-pictures with images of fragments of palaces and mosques, scenes of battles. Je recherche toujours le plus possible des tapis anciens plus beaux, tapis qui étaient fabriqués pour un usage domestique et non destinés à l’exportation comme le sont les tapis modernes, les couleurs de tapis anciens sont beaucoup plus belles, sur les tapis plus récents elles sont souvent très criardes, les dessins sont également plus fins. Je recherche aussi  les tapis de tribus nomades, originaux, avec leurs couleurs naturelles. Les défauts sont signalés et photographiés. Les tapis sont envoyés par la poste en colissimo recommandé avec assurance, pour les tapis de plus de 30 KG ils seront envoyés par transporteur livraison 3 jours ouvrables. La connaissance de ce que l’on  achète est toujours meilleure qu’un certificat.                                  Pour nettoyer vos tapis, un petit truc simple et qui marche, passez le face contre terre sur l’herbe humide, la poussière s’en va et les couleurs retrouvent leur éclat. Pour éliminer les mites définitivement une nuit dehors avec une température négative. Apparemment une exposition de 2 ou 3 heures au soleil donne de bons résultats. Si vous nettoyez votre tapis faites le sécher par terre sur l'herbe si vous le mettez sur des fils il ondulera par la suite. The white filed of this rug decorated with beautiful repeating colourful ornaments in a shape of a birds. The red border surrounding central area and decorated with tribal design. The rug is in original condition and condition is fair to its age. There are some age wear and one stain on the rug. It can be restored for an additional fee. Kazak rugs are a type of Armenian rug that were woven in the south of Caucasus, between Tiflis and Erevan. They are not associated with any particular tribe, but with the geographical areas in which they were made. The Kazak rugs were hand-knotted for the very best quality and were generally made by the women of the communities. Since Armenians are among the first people to have woven Oriental rugs, theirs is a skill that has been passed down since 5th century BC. As such, you can rest assured that Kazak rugs are of the highest possible quality and craftsmanship, considering the Armenians have been practicing their craft for more than years. The Kazak rugs are known for their large-scale patterns, their contrasting colours, and the presence of numerous medallions. There are three types of Kazak rugs, each of which were made in a different geographical area. Bordjalou Kazak rugs were made in a district that lies to the south of Tiflis. These rugs were coarsely woven and were simple in design, generally of the colours red, blue, ivory, and brown. The Kazak rugs from an area south of Bordjalou and north of Erevan are large area rugs that have a shorter pile and have more formal designs. The rugs from Erevan and southeast of Erevan are usually made longer and thinner, like runner rugs, and display more simple designs. These rugs generally feature less ivory and more reds and blues. Traditionally, Kazak rugs and other Armenian rugs were a sign of one’s status. They were placed in the homes of the rich, in palaces, and in churches. They hung on walls, were placed on floors, and were even placed on the throne of the king or at his feet. These special rugs were often woven with strands of silver and gold. Armenians and non-Armenians would commonly dine on the rugs and sometimes these rugs were even demanded as part of the tax owed to the kings, emperors, princes, and other nobility that ruled over the Armenians.
