Tapis vintage Tibet Khaden faits main 74cm x 137cm

Tapis vintage Tibet Khaden faits main 74cm x 137cm

Tapis vintage Tibet Khaden fait main Français -bon ètat original, -date approximative: , -taille: 74cm x 137cm, -matière: laine, -pays d' origine: Népal, -style: Khaden, -couleurs: beige, gris.   English Vintage Tibetan rug from Nepal in original good condition. All over design in beige color and gray border. The pile on this rug is thick and soft- it is a great piece to bring to the room a comfort and warmth. Tibetan rug making is an ancient, traditional craft. Tibetan rugs are traditionally made from Tibetan highland sheep's wool, called changpel. Tibetans use rugs for many purposes ranging from flooring to wall hanging to horse saddles, though the most common use is as a seating carpet. A typical sleeping carpet measuring around 3ftx5ft (0.9m x 1.6m) is called a khaden. The knotting method used in Tibetan rug making is different from that used in other rug making traditions worldwide. Some aspects of the rug making have been supplanted by cheaper machines in recent times, especially yarn spinning and trimming of the pile after weaving. However, some carpets are still made by hand. The Tibetan diaspora in India and Nepal have established a thriving business in rug making. In Nepal the rug business is one of the largest industries in the country and there are many rug exporters. Tibet also has weaving workshops, but the export side of the industry is relatively undeveloped compared with Nepal and India. The carpet making industry in Tibet stretches back hundreds if not thousands of years, yet as a lowly craft, it was not mentioned in early writings, aside from occasional references to the rugs owned by prominent religious figures. The first detailed accounts of Tibetan rug weaving come from foreigners who entered Tibet with the British invasion of Tibet in . Both L Austine Waddell  and Perceval Landon described a weaving workshop they encountered near Gyantse, en route to Lhasa. Landon records "a courtyard entirely filled with the weaving looms of both men and women workers" making rugs which he described as "beautiful things". The workshop was owned and run by one of the local aristocratic families, which was the norm in premodern Tibet. Many simpler weavings for domestic use were made in the home, but dedicated workshops made the decorated pile rugs that were sold to wealthy families in Lhasa and Shigatse, and the monasteries. The monastic institutions housed thousands of monks, who sat on long, low platforms during religious ceremonies, that were nearly always covered in hand-woven carpets for comfort. Wealthier monasteries replaced these carpets regularly, providing income, or taking gifts in lieu of taxation, from hundreds or thousands of weavers. From its heyday in the 19th and early 20th century the Tibetan carpet industry fell into serious decline in the second half of the 20th. Social upheaval that began in  was later exacerbated by land collectivization that enabled rural people to obtain a livelihood without weaving, and reduced the power of the landholding monasteries. Many of the aristocratic families who formerly organized the weaving fled to India and Nepal during this period, along with their money and management expertise. When Tibetan rug weaving began to revive in the s it was not in Tibet, but rather in Nepal and India. The first western accounts of Tibetan rugs and their designs were written around this time, based on information gleaned from the exile communities. Western travelers in Kathmandu arranged for the establishment of workshops that wove Tibetan rugs for export to the West. Weaving in the Nepal and India carpet workshops was eventually dominated by local non-Tibetan workers who replaced the original Tibetan émigré weavers. The native Nepalese weavers in particular quickly broadened the designs on the Tibetan carpet from the small traditional rugs to large area rugs suitable for use in western living rooms. This began a carpet industry that is important to the Nepalese economy even to this day, even though its reputation was eventually tarnished by child labor scandals during the s. During the s and s several workshops were also re-established in Lhasa and other parts of the Tibet Autonomous Region, but these worokshops remained and remain relatively disconnected from external markets. Today, most carpets woven in Lhasa factories are destined for the tourist market or for use as gifts to visiting Chinese delegations and government departments. Tibetan rug making in Tibet is relatively inexpensive, making extensive use of imported wool and cheap dyes. Some luxury rug makers have found success in Tibet in the last decade, but a gap still exists between Tibet-made product and the "Tibetan style" rugs made by businesses in South Asia. -condition: original good, -circa: , -size: 2.4' x cm x 137cm), -material: wool, -country of origin: Nepal, -style: Tibetan Khaden, -background colors: beige, gray.

English Persian Kermaan Lavaar rug in original condition. The rug is prayer with beige background and burgundy corners. The rug has design of the "Tree of Life" which indicated life and prosperity. Very nice soft shades might lighten up your room. It is in original condition, has some low pile.  The design pattern of Kermaan carpets are also a distinct feature. Vase carpets, a type of Kermaan rug distinctive of the 16th and 17th centuries, are characterized by an allover pattern of stylized flowers and oversized palmettes with vases placed throughout the field. Another rare and distinct variation of Kermaan carpets is the Lavaar or Ravaar Kermaan. Although Lavaar is the improper name, some are still labeled as such. These carpets were produced in Ravaar villagenext to Kermaan city in the northern region, and are known particularly for their fine weave and elegant, classically derived design of allover and central medallion formats. Antique Persian Kermaan Rug Whether Ravaar Kermaan or Kermaan, these antique rugs can boast fine woven reproductions of European paintings, as well as curvilinear, dense allover floral patterns. Floral patterns woven into Kermaan carpets are derivative of shawls for which Kermaan was also the center of producing in the early to mid- 19th century. Most Ravaar or Lavaar Kermaan carpets include a signature, either that of the weaver or to whom the carpet was woven for. It is important to note, however, that there is no one design or style of Kermaan rug that is vastly more popular than any other. Because of the tremendous demand for rugs produced in Kermaan, and because of the complex demographics of those generating the demand, a surprising variety of styles and designs were produced. While some Kermaan rugs were woven explicitly for monied buyers from the West, there were of course local consumers as well. -condition: original, little low pile, -circa: , -size: 2.10' x cm x 146cm), -material: wool, -country of origin: Persia, -style: Kermaan Lavaar, -background colours: beige, burgundy, blue. * #1B524 One Royal Art Nous expédions habituellement sous 3-7  jours ouvrables par Colissimo ou UPS. Tapis ancien Persan Malayer fait main Français -bon état original, -date approximative: , -taille: 170cm x 356cm, -matière: laine, -pays d' origine: Perse, -style: Malayer, -couleurs: bleu, rouge, beige, orange, vert olive.   English Rare and beautiful antique Persian Malayer runner in original condition. The rug has beautiful navy blue field and with colorful floral design in red, orange and olive green shades. The rug is very bright and might bright colors to any room. The condition is original good, has full pile and no wear. Antique Malayer Rugs - Antique rugs from the Malayer region embody an angular northwestern style that is best defined by its diversity in style and color. Malayer is a city and an eponymous county located within the province of Hamadaan. It is located between Arakaand the city of Hamadaan. Local weavers produced a spectacular array of traditional patterns ranging from dense allover motifs to lozenge-shaped medallions that are placed over chic monochromatic grounds. Although angular motifs are favored, some of the finer Herati patterns feature subtle curvilinear details. One of the charming constants of antique Malayer rugs is the importance placed on creating richly detailed borders that rival the spectacular patterns featured within the field. Weavers in Malayer consistently put great effort into creating exquisite borders. Regional weavers generally produced smaller area rugs and runners although larger room-sized rugs were created on commission. The colors and patterns of antique Malayer rugs are rich and varied. Tiny boteh motifs are often used to create tremendous allover patterns. However, large-scale arabesques with curvilinear vinescrolls are sometimes found. Today is an excellent time to invest in antique Malayer rugs because they are just now gaining the popularity and recognition they deserve. Antique rugs from the Malayer region constitute an important and distinctive group of Persian weavings. Technically they stand between those made in nearbySenneh and Hamadaan. They were produced in a range of medallion and allover designs which, although they come from classical Persian sources, tend to be somewhat abstract or geometricized in their rendering. Sometimes Malayer carpet designs can utilize small-scale and fine forms like the Heraati pattern, but they can also combine such features with larger composition schemes and the use of open, empty space. Their coloration is generally soft but varied. Malayer rugs have a quiet formality and reserve that makes them excellent decorative pieces for elegant settings. -condition: original good, -circa: , -size: 5.5' x cm x 356cm), -material: wool, -country of origin: Persia, -style: Malayer, -background colours: blue, red, beige, orange, olive green. #1C323 One Royal Art Nous expédions habituellement sous 3-7 jours ouvrables par Colissimo ou UPS. This design normally represents a life force in the world. The rug is in original condition, has a little moths damage. Different types of carpets were made here, including pile and flat-weave, with simple and complex composition. The carpet making art was passed on from generation to generation and was considered the most valued heirloom. The traditional topics for the Tebriiz carpets are the ornamental patterns, with the following dominant background colors: cream, red or navy blue. The most typical for this school are rugs and carpets grouped under the common name “Lachakk turanjj”. In the middle of the center field and in the corners of the carpet (“lachak”-triangle) there are “turanj”-Citron). The turanj in the center of the carpet is a symbol of the Moon, and the pattern formed by lozenges with the toothed leaves on the edges symbolizes the scales of the fish, which rise to the surface of the water at midnight to admire the Moon reflection. The origin of this composition dates back to the 9th-10th centuries. Often the topics for the Tebriiz carpets are drawn from the works of the great Oriental poets. The carpets often depict the scenes of falconry or images of a ferocious lion. Well known are also Tebriiz carpet-pictures with images of fragments of palaces and mosques, scenes of battles. Often, in creation of this or that ornamental pattern carpet weavers were inspired by the hand-painted covers of ancient books. -condition: original good, little moths damage, -circa: , -size: 1.5' x cm x 54cm), -material: wool, -country of origin: Persia, -style: Tebriiz, -background colors: red, pink, yellow, sky blue, beige, brown. #1C383 One Royal Art Nous expédions habituellement sous 3-7  jours ouvrables par Colissimo ou UPS.
