This rug has beautiful chocolate brown field with lots of abrashes on it. Geometric accent combined with tribal design goes well together. Double border in white and red shades surrounding the central area. the condition is original and good for the age: there is some low pile and one end is missing. N’oubliez pas de m’ajouter à votre liste de favoris !                  Tous les tapis que je propose sont faits à la main, les origines sont diverses, Afghanistan, Caucase, Iran, Pakistan, Turquie, tous sont d’occasion, quelquefois comme neuf, quelquefois avec des usures du temps, mais jamais d’épaves. Je recherche toujours le plus possible des tapis anciens plus beaux, tapis qui étaient fabriqués pour un usage domestique et non destinés à l’exportation comme le sont les tapis modernes, les couleurs de tapis anciens sont beaucoup plus belles, sur les tapis plus récents elles sont souvent très criardes, les dessins sont également plus fins. Je recherche aussi  les tapis de tribus nomades, originaux, avec leurs couleurs naturelles. Les défauts sont signalés et photographiés. Les tapis sont envoyés par la poste en colissimo recommandé avec assurance, pour les tapis de plus de 30 KG ils seront envoyés par transporteur livraison 3 jours ouvrables. La connaissance de ce que l’on  achète est toujours meilleure qu’un certificat.                                  Pour nettoyer vos tapis, un petit truc simple et qui marche, passez le face contre terre sur l’herbe humide, la poussière s’en va et les couleurs retrouvent leur éclat. Pour éliminer les mites définitivement une nuit dehors avec une température négative. Apparemment une exposition de 2 ou 3 heures au soleil donne de bons résultats. Si vous nettoyez votre tapis faites le sécher par terre sur l'herbe si vous le mettez sur des fils il ondulera par la suite. This Pakistani rug was made in combination of peach, bright yellow, azure and black colors. Beautiful traditional design with two medallions in the center. The condition is fair for the age, has some low pile. The art of weaving developed in the region comprising Pakistan at a time when few other civilizations employed it. Excavations at Moenjodaro and Harappa - ancient cities of the Indus Valley civilization - have established that the inhabitants used spindles and spun a wide variety of weaving materials. Some historians consider that the Indus Valley civilization first developed the use of woven textiles. Carpet weaving may have been introduced into the area of present-day Pakistan as far back as the eleventh century with the coming of the first Muslim conquerors, the Afghan Ghaznavids and the Ghaurids. It can with more certainty be traced to the beginning of the Mughal Dynasty in the early sixteenth century, when the last successor of Timur, Babur, extended his rule from Kabul, Afghanistan to India and founded the Mughal Empire. Under the patronage of the Mughals, Indian craftsmen adopted Persian techniques and designs. Carpets woven in the Punjab at that time (often called Lahore carpets today) made use of motifs and decorative styles found in Mughal architecture. During the Mughal period, the carpets made on the Indian subcontinent became so famous that demand for them spread abroad. These carpets boasted distinctive designs and high knot densities. Carpets made for the Mughal emperors, including Jahangir and Shah Jahan, were of the finest quality. During the British colonial era, prison weaving was established in district and female jails in cities such as Lahore and Karachi. Carpet-weaving outside of jails was revived after the partition when Pakistan's carpet-weaving industry flourished. At present, hand-knotted carpets are made by Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan, making carpets and one of the country's leading export products. Hand-knotted rug manufacture is Pakistan's second-largest cottage and small industry. The rug is very typical for the middle of 20th century. It was made in classical tribal design and colors. Chocolate brown field covered in little trees in red, white and blue shades. White medallion in the center. Yhe white border also has garden design which contains flowers along it. Hamadaan is a city situated in the western part of Persia, 300 kilometres west of Teheraan. It is one of the worlds oldest cities and is mentioned under the name of Ekbataana in the Bible, see the book of Esther. The city is a center for trading with carpets that are manufactured in the hundreds from nearby villages and cities. The best of these carpets are sold under their own names such asNahavaand, Tuiserkaan, Malaayer or Hosseinabaad. More simple carpets from the area are sold under the generic term Hamadan. They are easily recognized with their typical patterns and sizes.  The patterns are very varying and the medallion as well as carpets with repeated patterns occur. Among individual pattens the Herati is the most common pattern. The colors are dominated by different nuances of indigo blue and madder red. Older Hamadaan carpets can be very attractive products. In the city itself, Hamadaan, carpets were manufactured with a considerably higher quality.The carpets were called Shaah r-baaff and are similiar in structure to the Bidjaar carpets, but they are rare on the market today. The carpets are manufactured with a ropy, shiny and often natural dyed hand-spun yarn, that provides a very durable surface and beautiful colour scale. Common for all these carpets is that they are nowadays made on a cotton warp with one weft.  The patterns are mostly geometrical, but floral motifs also occur. Materials and design can be of very varying quality. Older carpets (before ) are often tied on wool warp, different from todays cotton warp. The younger carpets (after ) often have synthetic colors and less fine wool than older carpets.
