ANTIQUE HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN PLAQUE MOUNTED IN CARVED WOOD
I have for sale this incredibly beautiful hand painted porcelain plaque that has been mounted into an amazing hand carved wooden triptych, I hope you will be able to see the superb detailed carving of the triptych and the amazing detail of the porcelain plaque, it is a most unusual piece, I have certainly never seen anything quite like it before, it was found in a house clearance here in the South of France, it is certainly 19th century, I would think C, the Napoléon 111 period, it is European, possibly French or German, I cannot say for sure, the quaily certainly speaks for itself. Please look closely at the condition in my 12 photographs, you will see that there is some damage to the fretting, but for such an early frame as delicately and finely carved as this, I feel the condition is good commensurate with it's age, the porcelain plaque has no damage, but I think that it has had a protective varnish at some time and there is just slight evidence of this here and there, or it is possibly just dirty, I did not want to clean it, I am no expert, so I thought it was best left. The maximum measurement of the triptych when closed is approx 18"x10" or 46cmsx26cms, the porcelain plaque measures approx 6.75"x5" or 7cms x12.5cms, the plaque is set into a deep rich claret coloured velvet mount. Please feel free to ask questions and if you require extra photographs, please do not hesitate to contact me.
